Working together to build a thriving and sustainable well-being economy
e·con·o·my: how a nation or state makes, distributes, and uses its wealth
What if we redefined wealth? What if, instead of money or material resources, we thought about health, comfort, and satisfaction? What if we directed our efforts, both as individuals and as a community, toward developing and maintaining those qualities instead of simply trying to get ahead in life?
Because let’s be honest. When was the last time being financially well-off ever made anyone feel happy or whole?
In our modern society, we are wealthier than we have ever been, and yet more of us are struggling with depression, anxiety, and a host of other mental health problems.
Money alone is obviously not the secret to health or happiness, so what is?
Feel Better Fort Worth is a coalition of local small businesses striving for community recovery. Every brand associated with #FeelBetterFW is passionate about connection, mental health, wellness, and human flourishing in our city. Together, we are working to flip the script on what it means to be a “wealthy” community, where priority is placed on well-being and the “rich” and “successful” are those who are at their best mentally, physically, and socially. It’s our mission to see every person in Fort Worth not only free from crippling disease or illness, but living a full, purposeful, and happy life.
True and lasting well-being can feel elusive. After all, humans are complex, with many and varied needs. At Feel Better Fort Worth, we recognize these complexities, so we advocate a holistic approach to well-being. We promote care for the whole person in all dimensions: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social. Specifically, we place priority on mental health, emphasize participation in wellness and the arts, and encourage fitness.
Feel Better Fort Worth exists to make, distribute, and use the wealth of well-being. Our goals are to 1) create helpful resources where they are lacking, 2) connect you to pardners and professionals who can meet you where you are, address your individual needs, and help you feel better, and 3) foster a culture of paying well-being forward. When the individuals in a community are thriving, the community thrives too.
If you’re struggling and in need of support, know that you are not alone. We are here to help you grow. Take the first step today.
